    • Client : Education and Research Department (E&R), Infosys

    • Description : This project involved developing a totally automated system of displaying the latest technology news and updates on the E&R portal. The latest technology news from various sources from the internet are read using the RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feeds provided, and are displayed on the E&R portal.

    • The project involved :

      • Developing the mechanism to read the RSS feeds from various sources
      • Developing the code to display the data read on the E&R portal
      • Developing the code to automatically read the feeds on a periodic basis without human intervention.
      • Setting up the Win HTTP proxy program on the server to access the feeds.

This project involved development of a web-based application which enables the E&R Department to gather feedbacks from the Project Mangers.

      This particular portal has saved a lot of effort, which was earlier involved in this process.

    • Description: The project involved development of a dynamic Intranet portal for the E&R department. The portal developed is a web based application, and is based on the three tier architecture. The data for the portal is stored in a database, and all the pages of the portal are generated dynamically. The portal server as the front end of the E&R department and is the single point of contact for all Infoscions for their Education related needs.

      The portal is being enhanced by adding new features on a regular basis.

This project was executed under the guidance of the Education and Research Department, Mangalore.

  • Remote Administration and Guidance over TCP/IP network for Windows 98 Environment
    • Description: Final Year BE Project. Allows the user to control a remote computer over a TCP/IP network. This project was based on the client/server concept.
    • Tools Used: MFC’s, Visual C++ 6.
    • Concepts Learnt: Client-Server Architecture, TCP/IP, Socket Programming, Networking, Windows 98 Internal structure, Operating Systems, and working in a group.
  • Tetris Mania
    • Description: A hobby project to develop a clone of a popular game - Tetris.
